Honestly, I would not want to hang this print on my wall of one of my kids but for a vacation photo where flesh tones or color accuracy isnt as important, costco can be a great option. Costco offers convenience and is a great option for families looking to conveniently print their vacation photos. Costco should never ever be an option if you are in the business of selling your photos. These results do not surprise me, there is no substitute for printing at a pro lab. You can see in the side by side attached photo the colors in the hat are not nearly as vibrant as the colors in the print on the right. The costco image in general appears to have a green cast to it, and the colors are greatly faded. I took a photo with my iphone so do note that in person, the differences are even more pronounced, especially the background blanket appears way more yellow in person. I printed the same photo in my own lab at the same size so I can do a side by side comparison. They also were not able to hit any colors on the adobe1998 color spectrum even though these colors do show just fine when switching is to sRGB. The print from costco, the baby looks dead.I am not kidding, the baby looks like its not alive. When a printer is off and not properly calibrated, you will notice right away from flesh tones. I submitted a file with an adobe1998 color profile of a baby. The bad news is the print quality is absolutely terrible. The good news is, they do in fact use chromaluxe, unlike walgreens, and the surface is the white gloss which is what you want from a metal print. They shipped it very quickly and the packaging was very good, no damage at all to the print. I received the 16x20 print yesterday, and it was packaged perfectly. I placed the order to be shipped directly to me since the shipping for this size was very reasonable at just $5.99 so I did not pickup at a local costco, but I am going to guess the results would be similar. I recently ordered a print from costco online due to some recent threads on here that sparked my interest. As a metal print owner, I am constantly being asked by new customers if we price match costco, which we ended up just lowering our prices on our website for the 11x14, 12x12, 16x20 and 16x24 just to save on the hassle of going back and forth.
